“To be able to share someone’s life with them, listen to families laugh and fill the room with love as their loved one is passing… is a ministry and it’s my calling to be a hospice nurse.” – Dana Moore, RN.

Alive Is Unique in End-of-Life Care
We are the only nonprofit provider of end-of-life care in Middle Tennessee. Our approach is community-oriented, and our culture is deeply supportive. But don’t take our word for it. Read stories about our care and see the awards we have received.
Established Roots
Our community roots have gone deep over the past 40-plus years. We host 400 volunteers annually, partner with the largest healthcare providers in the region, and ensure our services are affordable to all, thanks to help from friends like The Bluebird Cafe who host a month of benefit shows for us each year.
Innovation & Leadership
Alive provides free education to the community to facilitate the incredible transformation and healing possible in the final phase of life. Alive celebrates diversity. Our DEI committee is active and comprised of employees from all across Alive.

I worked for Alive for four years before leaving to take care of my husband. Ten years later I returned after losing him. I love that I not only get to make sure that my patients are taken care of, but also that I can give patients and their families the experience that my husband and our family were not as fortunate to receive when losing him. We care as much for making sure the family is comfortable and being taken care of as we do the patients and I love that! – Lesley Yoho, Registered Nurse
I have worked at Alive for many years. The one thing that has kept me here is that over all those years, our mission has been the same. Care of our patients and their loved one is our top priority and has always been. – Jill Cornwell, Director of Clinical Care
