Volunteer
Volunteering with Alive is a powerful way to support hospice patients and their loved ones. We’re the region’s only nonprofit hospice, which means our volunteers are a vital part of our mission and how we serve our community.

Becoming a Volunteer
Process
We work with volunteers ages 15 and up. We follow a detailed process when choosing volunteers, to ensure that we have the right people serving in the right roles:
- Step 1: Complete our Volunteer Application
- Step 2: Interview with Alive and complete trainings and background checks (as needed)
- Step 3: Orientation
- Step 4: Placement
“I feel like I’m giving to my community and helping people through a natural, yet very difficult part of life. Whether it’s providing information regarding hospice services or sitting with someone who is dying, I want to build connections with others. That makes me happy.”
– Meryl Taylor
