Become Part of Our Story

Alive took root more than 40 years ago in Middle Tennessee when a small group of local pioneers (now honored in the Health Care Hall of Fame) came together to establish the third hospice in the U.S. Today, we remain true to our local roots as an innovator and leader, helping our friends and neighbors in Middle Tennessee live well until the end.

We envision a world with time for final words to be spoken and wishes fulfilled, where the end is as sacred as the beginning, and no one has to die alone.

Together, we create it.

“Alive provides vital, compassionate service to so many of our neighbors. We’re thankful to be invited to participate in this campaign, to the Bluebird Cafe, and to the many artists contributing their time to support Alive’s mission. Caring for each other and using music for good are two values that encapsulate Tennessee, and this project exemplifies them.”
– Courtney Ross, Amazon’s Sr. Manager of Community Engagement in Nashville

“Alive has a rich history of providing personalized and compassionate end-of-life care. At Ascension Saint Thomas Rutherford, we consider Alive Hospice an important partner in our efforts to offer Middle Tennesseans continuity of care.”
– Gordon Ferguson, President and CEO, Ascension Saint Thomas Rutherford

“It’s hard to describe how the month of January has become such a warm and heart-centric month for us at the club. Our staff, the audience and most significantly, the songwriters are all moved by the opportunity to participate in this community event and through it, support the work that Alive does. Many of them have had experiences with Alive; friends, family, colleagues – and they embrace this celebration as a way of giving back.”
– Erika Wollam Nichols, GM, The Bluebird Cafe
