Do you know a child or teen (aged 8-17) who has lost a loved one? Apply now for one of the limited spots at our overnight grief camp, Camp Forget-Me-Not! Traditional camp fun (ziplining, swimming and water slides) is combined with therapeutic activities to remember loved ones and make connections with peers who are also grieving. Teens have their own groups and activities.
ANY child who has experienced the death of someone significant is welcome, regardless of whether the person they mourn received care from Alive or not. See below for details and how you can get involved.
What: In addition to traditional camp fun, our grief counselors facilitate small peer groups to explore feelings, learn healthy ways to cope and show grievers that they are not alone.
When: August 12 – August 13.
Campers arrive Saturday morning, and our closing ceremony takes place Sunday afternoon.
Where: YMCA Camp Widjiwagan in Nashville (3088 Smith Springs Rd.)
Cost: Donations make it possible for us to charge only $85 per camper.
Scholarships are also available. No one is turned away for a lack of funds. Thank you to our camp supporters Temple Ohabai Sholom and The Marlene and Spencer Hays Foundation.
