Our teams are always looking for ways to make those in our care as comfortable as possible. Social worker Camy Byrn is known by her co-workers as a resource-finding expert who goes above and beyond to make our patients’ lives a little easier. One of her patients who struggles to speak was using his phone to text with his team. This was frustrating and arduous for him, and it often took a long time to communicate his needs. Camy knew there had to be a better way.

She found a company that provides communication tablets designed just for patients and acquired one for him. She spent hours setting it up so he could use it to communicate with his Alive health experts in different disciplines. This personalized tool has made a huge difference for him. He can get his needs across much more easily, but most importantly, he’s just excited to communicate again!
