Join Alive’s Grief Center this summer for Creative Hearts Day Camp (July 11-15) and Camp Forget-Me-Not (August 13-14) for kids and teens who are grieving the death of someone important in their life. See below for details on these special camps for kids and how you can get involved.
Creative Hearts Day Camp
What: Alive’s week-long camp provides opportunities for kids and teens ages 12-17 to explore their creativity with peers who have experienced the death of a special person. Campers will explore traditional healing arts including visual arts, movement, poetry/writing, and theater arts, culminating in an informal showcase for family, friends, and guardians. Space is limited to 15 spots.
When: July 11-15, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. (extended care available starting at 8 a.m. and after-care until 5:30 p.m. for a one-time fee of $50). Campers must attend all days of camp.
Where: Alive Nashville Grief Center, 1721 Patterson Street, Nashville, TN 37203
Cost: $150 for up to two campers from the same household. Additional campers at $50; scholarships and discounts available.
Camp Forget-Me-Not: Accepting Campers and Volunteers
Camper applications are now open for Camp Forget-Me-Not, for kids who have experienced a significant loss, and we’re looking for male volunteers to be “Big Buddies”!
Camp will be held August 13-14, 2022 at the fabulous YMCA Camp Widjiwagan located just 20 minutes east of downtown Nashville. Campers will arrive at 10:30 a.m. Saturday and stay overnight. Closing ceremony will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday.
