Thank you to Corene Martynowski, LPN, for bringing some sunshine to one of our IPU patients and his family. He was young and loved being outdoors. After seeing another patient enjoying the beautiful spring weather in the courtyard, his family wondered if he would still be able to enjoy feeling the sun and wind on his skin as he once did. Corene didn’t hesitate; she rolled up her sleeves, unplugged the bed, opened the doors, and commandeered her teammates to push the patient in his bed, through the doors, down the hallway, and out the double doors into the courtyard. This simple act was a gift not only to the patient but also to his family who was so grateful that he could be in the fresh, spring air for a final time.
