Alive & The Bluebird

Alive & The Bluebird is back in-person at the Bluebird Café on Thursday, 9/2! Come enjoy the musical stylings of Dustin Christensen, Stephen Wilson Jr., and Kyle Daniel. This benefit will also be livestreamed via StageIt, so movement will be limited during the show. Space is limited.

Eight-Week Grief Journey Groups Forming Now!

All Loss of Spouse/Partner, Loss of a Loved One, Grief Recovery, and Good Mourning virtual groups launch on 9/30. For just $50 per participant, groups meet for eight consecutive Thursdays and are led by professional grief counselors. To register, call 615-963-4732 or email griefsupport@alivehospice.org.

Remembrance Day Series: Grandparent’s Day

Offered at our Nashville and Franklin locations on 9/12, 2 p.m. – 4 p.m., this family-friendly event will allow you to create a one-of-a-kind stepping stone decorated to honor your grandparent. Bring your own treasures or use our supplies to create a garden memorial. Guests will be masked and socially distanced. All ages and abilities welcome. Register below.

World Patient Safety Day​ is September 17. This campaign is for all health care providers to work together and share information to improve patient safety. Family Retreat Registration Open!

Alive’s Family Retreat (10/16) is open to families with children under the age of 18. During this special event, families come together to play, remember, share, and connect. For more information, call 615-963-4732 or email griefsupport@alivehospice.org.

Art Alive (Virtual)

Join us the third Wednesday of the month (9/15) for a virtual art therapy group focused on loss and change. September’s project is: Hidden Story Box. No art experience is necessary. (A $5.00 fee covers the cost of materials, which are provided to participants in advance of the workshop.) Register below.

September 22 is Falls Prevention Awareness Day. Falls are the leading cause of injury-related emergency room visits and can be more dangerous than they might seem. Bruising, hip fractures, and head injuries can result from these accidents with the potential to be fatal, especially for elderly and vulnerable populations. Visit the National Council on Aging for falls prevention resources and information.

Sound Bath Meditation (Virtual)

On 9/22 participants will experience the vibration and auditory properties of sound to achieve a relaxed state. Headphones are recommended but not necessary. Register below.

Mindfulness Moments

Alive volunteer, Ben Glover, is offering a FREE 30-minute mindful meditation class to help you re-center and focus every Thursday at 1 p.m. CST on Zoom. Register below.

Private Creative Arts Memorials

Looking for a unique way to honor your loved one? We’re now holding Private Creative Arts Memorials for groups of 10 or fewer with access to our Creative Room, menu of memorialization projects, supplies, and support from a grief counselor and activity facilitator.
