Join us on 10/5 as we co-host a casual, drop-in event with Larkspur Conservation and Sunny Care Services and come together to plan for death in an approachable, life-affirming way. Small group-style chats with experts from Larkspur Conservation, Sunny Care Services and Alive will help participants clarify what they can do today to better prepare. Tennessee Conference on Children’s Grief

We invite you to join Alive’s Grief Center on 11/9 for a one-day conference for local clinicians, teachers, and community members who want to enhance their skills and learn about the latest research and clinical developments in working with grieving children and teens. Learn from experts in the field, and enjoy a free lunch along with fun opportunities to learn about Unscripted Improv.

Mental health providers can receive six (6) Continuing Education hours for this event. (*Approval Pending).

Grief Offerings in October

Finding Lost Words

Join us every first Saturday (10/7) for this virtual writing workshop, helping participants cope with loss through self-expression. Guided by a facilitator, participants will engage in writing activities that culminate in creating a poem based on a provided prompt. Register here.

Grief 101

This introductory group session on 10/10 and 10/24 occurs every second and fourth Tuesday of the month and answers questions on grief, provides tools, and introduces grief services offered by Alive. Register here.

Story Hour

Join us on 10/13 for this virtual workshop for participants to share stories about loved ones without judgment or time limits. We invite participants to bring a different keepsake or photograph to each session and share the story of its significance with others who have also experienced loss. Register here.

Winter Book Club

This weekly virtual group provides a casual, supportive environment, where participants will explore books with themes of loss, coping and hope. This group will meet on Wednesdays.

Five-Week Holiday Series Forming Now!

This support group is for adults seeking practical coping strategies during the holidays after the death of a loved one. Group begins November 30, and topics to be discussed include dealing with hard-hitting emotions, what to do about traditions, how to survive social events, and where to find comfort and strength. $50 per participant covers the cost for the series; scholarships available.
