From Retail to Hospice Care

“It’s like customer service, but it is different, more hands-on…My favorite part about this work is being able to make people comfortable, whether it’s bringing them something to eat or drink, just talking with them and their family, or helping give them a bath to help them relax.”

LaTasha Bond has been a hospice aide at Alive for 16 years. She came to Alive with a background in retail and home health and a desire to help others.

“The work I do here has impacted me on an emotional and spiritual level. I will have been a CNA for 21 years in May, but I worked at nursing homes for 5 years before joining Alive. I thought hospice would be a hard job, but the experience I have now with it makes me enjoy life the best I can.”
