Like a symphony, every moment of our journey is unique, filled with highs and lows that create a masterpiece. Since joining the team at Alive four short months ago, I have experienced this music firsthand through the inspiring stories I hear from caregivers. Many of you may understand both the burdens and joys of caregiving, much like our dedicated staff at Alive. They put aside their own needs to care for our patients as if they were their own loved ones.
Recently, a former board member shared her father’s end-of-life journey with Alive. His final days were filled with country music, tapping toes, shared laughter, and love. And when he passed—on a steep, icy hill during a snowstorm—Alive’s team did the impossible.
Despite the weather, our nurse Bonnie drove out to the house made it half way up and then climbed the rest of the way on foot. When the funeral home, ambulance and firetruck couldn’t make it up, our team coordinated alternative transport. When caregivers were stranded, Bonnie worked to ensure they could leave safely. Because that’s what Alive nurses do. They show up, they stay, they love, and they lead with heart.
This year, Alive is celebrating our 50th anniversary of helping people throughout Middle Tennessee find their rhythm, their voice, and their joy. There will be opportunities for you to join us in celebrating this milestone and to thank those who have volunteered, donated, or shared their talents to support our mission of providing loving care to individuals, families, and our entire community. Thank you for your support in creating our legacy. With your help, we can continue to bring
harmony to our community.
With gratitude,
Kim Patterson
