You’ve probably heard a lot lately about seamstresses coming to the rescue during the pandemic by creating face masks. Julia Christman is one of those incredible volunteers! She’s been sharing her sewing talents with Alive since August 2013. Before the pandemic, Julia was best known for making beautiful fidget blankets, lap quilts with tactile objects sewn on, that help calm the busy fingers of our patients with dementia. The craftmanship and creativity of these blankets are always outstanding.
Since March, Julia has been sewing face masks for Alive to provide to families and friends of patients visiting our residences. Here she is, in her home, hard at work while cutting fabric for masks.
Thank you, Julia, for all that you do. You bring beauty to these essential items!
