Volunteer Spotlight: Debbie Haskell and Drake

Alive volunteer Debbie Haskell“Our shaky and shy start has grown into a feeling of being a part of the wonderful team here and many, many blessings every time we go.” – Debbie Haskell

Debbie Haskell brings her therapy dog, Drake, to the Nashville residence every Monday morning. The pair came together at a time when they were both grieving. Drake was grieving his one stable home and Debbie her three dogs who died the previous year. Supportive people in the Alive community guided them toward certification as a pet therapy team helping to fulfill Drake’s original purpose as a service dog trainee and Debbie’s desire for a post-retirement purpose. Together, they make a wonderful team, bringing love and comfort to patients and families when they need it most!
