Amela Turkovic and her daughter Nina have been volunteering together at the Nashville Residence since December 2018. They both speak German and Croatian, and they visit patients on Sundays, bringing beautiful smiles and an upbeat spirit to each room. Amela is a Reiki Master, a licensed cosmetologist and an amazing baker. She gives haircuts to our patients upon request and shares delicious treats around the holidays. Amela also sits with dying patients who are alone as a part of our Volunteer Companion Program. When Nina was in high school, she decided to volunteer with her mother after visiting the nursing home where her grandmother worked. They make a dynamic duo!
