You can tell a lot about a company not only by the earnings it generates, but by the good it does.
Jackson National Life Insurance Company® (Jackson®) is well established as a provider of retirement products for industry professionals and their clients. Just as consumers invest with Jackson, the company also invests in communities where its associates live and work through a dedicated corporate social responsibility program.
“Our corporate philanthropy embraces working with local nonprofits and supporting vulnerable communities, including youth and seniors, in the places we call home.”
“We are committed to providing consumers with the products they need as they plan for retirement,” said Susannah Berry, corporate social responsibility manager at Jackson’s Franklin office. “Beyond our product offerings, Jackson invests in the community because we believe everyone should have the opportunity to pursue the quality of life they want, no matter where they are along life’s journey.”
Alive Hospice has been a beneficiary of Jackson’s generosity since 2011 through a recurring sponsorship of the Alive At The Bluebird concert series, a key event in its annual fundraising drive. In 2014, Jackson committed even more support to Alive as a Presenting Sponsor and has returned at this top level of underwriting support each January since then.
Additionally, Jackson has provided funding for Alive Hospice’s summer day camps for grieving children and teens through its grant program, the Jackson National Community Fund. Each summer, dozens of kids attend the camps to receive the support they need and take the next steps toward healing through lessons they’ll carry with them for years to come.
“Our corporate philanthropy embraces working with local nonprofits and supporting vulnerable communities, including youth and seniors, in the places we call home,” Berry said. “All the fantastic nonprofits we work with, like Alive Hospice, make unique contributions that together create a vibrant community for everyone. In their own way, each of our nonprofit partners help provide the tools and resources that give people the opportunity and access to the life they want.”
Every visit to The Bluebird Cafe is a memorable experience, but if you ask Berry (who regularly attends Alive At The Bluebird shows), she says it’s memorable for a different reason in January.
“The songwriters know what they’re supporting,” she said. “Many of them have been touched by loss and grief, and you can feel it in their music. From the songwriters to the fans to the sponsors, everyone joins together to support such an important cause — that’s a powerful experience to be a part of.”
By supporting this event, Jackson is helping Alive Hospice raise awareness about how the organization helps during very difficult times of life. Each night, Alive tells a packed house about its mission to provide grief support and end of life care in Middle Tennessee every day and night. The organization also explains how the ticket proceeds are used. Bluebird guests leave with a connection to Alive they may not have had before, which can make a world of difference someday for someone they love – because they were introduced to Alive at a concert.
Jackson is the marketing name for Jackson National Life Insurance Company and Jackson National Life Insurance Company of New York®.
Alive Hospice has a longstanding commitment to provide our mission-based services (charity hospice care, grief counseling for adults and children, and education about the end of life) to all who need them, regardless of ability to pay.
To keep this commitment, Alive Hospice must raise in excess of $2 million on an annual basis. Partners like Jackson make it possible.
