An Alive Family

Bobby Medaugh with his full-time caregiver Alfreda

Did you know that 90% of our patients receive our care wherever they call home, whether it’s a family house or long-term care facility? Our patient Bobby Medaugh still lives in the Nashville home he built himself, thanks to his full-time caregiver, Alfreda, and the additional support of his care team at Alive. Bobby grew up in Nashville, attended West End High and married the love of his life, Nancy. Nancy was known for her kindness and desire to give back. Nancy became part of the Alive family before she ever needed our services. She was a volunteer for many years with our community development department and is still remembered for her dedication, not to mention the delicious brownies she baked for staff birthdays.

Nancy always left a sweet treat on everyone’s desk on the days she came to volunteer. When she was diagnosed with cancer, she was cared for by Alive, first at home and then in our Nashville residence. Her husband Bobby now receives our care in the home he built for the two of them. We are honored to receive the support of families like the Medaughs and to be able to care for them in return.
