Friends for Life Giving Society
If you have already designated Alive Hospice in your will, please contact us as we would like to personally thank you for your exceptional generosity. We also wish to recognize you as a member of our Friends for Life Giving Society, an appropriate description of those who make plans during their lives to support Alive Hospice following their deaths.
With your permission, we would like to include your name in listings of this important group of donors who have declared their intentions to make a deferred gift. This recognition is incredibly valuable for Alive Hospice: your decision, when made visible to others, may inspire them to do the same.
Planned giving options
A planned gift may be as simple as naming Alive Hospice, as a beneficiary of your will, 401(k), IRA, pension fund, insurance policy or trust. A bequest is one of the easiest gifts to make: you can include language in your will or trust specifying a gift be made to Alive Hospice as part of your estate plan – a specific dollar amount, percentage of your estate, balance of your estate, or as the beneficiary of certain assets.
Other donors may consider a gift annuity or charitable remainder trust which provides income or tax benefits to the donor. You may be interested in a naming opportunity in memory of a loved one, ranging from a patient room in our Nashville or Murfreesboro residence, to funding a capital improvement or to endow a fund which – for example – provides for increasing our grief counseling staff to help us meet increasing needs
Alive Hospice is committed to protecting and preserving your planned gift. Our board and staff have decades of experience in adhering to the highest ethical standards and practicing disciplined financial oversight, to ensure a sustainable business model and resources far into the future. An ethos of transparency ensures that donors and interested members of the public have access to appropriate and accurate information regarding finances, operations, and results.
I'm interested, what do I do next?
We encourage everyone considering a planned gift to consult legal and/or financial professionals of their choosing. They can help to answer your questions, such as:
- Which gift is right for you?
- Which gifts are completely free of estate and other taxes?
- Which gifts are subject to estate or income taxes for you or your heirs?
- Which gifts can provide income? Now, deferred until retirement, or to fund (for example) children's or grandchildren's future college expenses?
