Each boat sailing in the O.L. Shultz Regatta will fly Memorial Burgees (2016 example pictured above) personalized with the names of cherished loved ones. We invite you to order a Memorial Burgee and receive it as a keepsake after the races. You do not have to compete in a race to order a burgee.

What is a Burgee?
A burgee is a standard flag of colors unique to each sailing club around the world. Treasured by sailors to identify their home base, they are often traded when sailing into another club's port.
You may pick up your burgee after the Sunday, April 9 races at Harbor Island Yacht Club, or after April 9 at Alive Hospice's administrative office. Address: 1718 Patterson Street, Nashville, TN 37203

About O. L. Shultz
Mr. O. L. Shultz was a former Commodore and longtime member of the Harbor Island Yacht Club who received care from Alive Hospice in his time of need.
In addition to sailing Old Hickory and Kentucky Lakes, O. L. sailed from Florida to the Bahamas and from Newport to the Keys and points in between, as well as Spain to the Madeiras and Canaries. O. L. was an enthusiastic and generous friend to all and would freely give of his time, his advice, his money, and his labor.
We are proud that our Regatta, which raises funding so that others may receive the same care Mr. Shultz received, bears his name.
