Alive was honored to become a beneficiary of the second annual Ben Jones Clay Shoot this spring. Hosted by Tennessee Titans Center Ben Jones and his wife, Alex, the outdoor sporting event supports local nonprofits that enrich the lives of youth. The 50-bird tournament was hosted at the Nashville Gun Club, and all levels participated. Each team was paired with a Tennessee Titans player.
Jones is a dedicated philanthropist who takes his responsibility as a role model very seriously. He lost his father at an early age, and when he learned about Alive’s grief support programs for kids, he knew he had to get involved.
“When I was a kid and lost my dad, I had a lot of support–from my family, my community, and my church–and that helped me get through it. Not everybody has that. And I want to be sure that there is a resource for other grieving kids. Alive Grief Support is the only agency in town whose counselors specialize in grief. That’s all they do, and they offer their services at low or no cost.”
A portion of the proceeds from this year’s shoot will be used to support Alive’s grief support services for children, which include grief camps, a teen retreat, individual counseling, and group sessions.
