Remembrance Day Series: Mother’s Day Memory Chimes

The Mother’s Day holiday can be difficult when you are grieving. Join us 5/8 for this special event and create a one-of a-kind wind chime decorated with found objects, personal mementos, and unique tokens that remind you of your mother. Register below.

Labyrinth Walk (In-Person)

On 5/15 we will have hold this age-old contemplative practice that provides time to re-center and focus and offers significant symbolism regarding the end of life and grief process. The evening will conclude with a remembrance ceremony to honor the lives of significant people in our lives. Attendance is limited, so register early! Register below.

Virtual Movie Screening: Speaking Grief Documentary + Panel Discussion

Join us 5/26 for a free virtual screening of this new documentary that challenges viewers to move away from the idea that grief is a problem that needs to be “fixed,” and validates grief as a normal, healthy part of the human experience. Participants will have an opportunity to learn more from death, dying, and bereavement experts and honor loved ones through a shared remembrance activity. Register below.

COVID-19 Grief Groups

This group occurs on the second Tuesday (5/11) and the fourth Monday (5/24) of each month with afternoon and evening sessions available. Connect with others who have first-hand understanding of pandemic-related loss and prolonged grief. Register below.

Mindfulness Moments

Alive volunteer, Ben Glover, is offering a FREE 30-minute mindful meditation class weekly to help you re-center and focus throughout the day. Weekly Guided Meditation will take place weekly on Thursdays at 1 p.m. CST. Register below.

Supporting Your Grieving Child (Virtual)

How can you help a grieving child or teen when you are also broken hearted? This class on fourth Wednesdays (5/26) provides critical information to maintain communication in the wake of loss. To register, call 615-963-4732 or email griefsupport@alivehospice.org.

Art Alive (Virtual)

Join us the third Wednesday of the month (5/19) for a virtual art therapy group focused on loss and change. May’s project is: Memory Book. No art experience is necessary. (A $5.00 fee covers the cost of materials, which are provided to participants in advance of the workshop.) Register below.

Private Creative Arts Memorials

We are now holding Private Creative Arts Memorials for groups of 10 or fewer with access to our Creative Room, menu of memorialization projects, supplies, and support from a grief counselor and activity facilitator.
