Community Memorial Video

We are all struggling to maintain a sense of connection while feeling the loss of the annual rituals we rely on as a community. With many unable to gather for traditional memorial services, we knew it was more important than ever to find a safe way for families to take part in our annual Memorial Butterfly Release.

We rethought the entire event from start to finish. Instead of bringing hundreds to our Nashville and Murfreesboro locations, we offered a fun, family drive-through butterfly pick up at each. It included gift bags with coupons to local business, cookies donated by Sweet 16th Bakery, fresh lemonade, and, of course, the butterflies, so people could release them safely at home.

For the first time, we also sold butterfly houses. Custom built for Alive by local volunteers, the houses are a fun craft project for those looking for home activities and are also available fully finished. Keep your eyes open around town, and you will start to notice them. It’s a movement to show that gone is not forgotten, and we are all remembering someone. You can join too by visiting AliveHospice.org/Shop and ordering your own.

We received an outpouring of love and support from the community, and we want to share this with our supporters. We hope you enjoy this community memorial video filled with families enjoying at-home butterfly releases as they come together to celebrate the lives of loved ones. Thank you to all who took part and contributed to our video!
