Singer/Songwriters Raise Funds for Alive’s End-of-life Care in Rutherford County
NASHVILLE, TENN. – Alive’s annual benefit concert series in Murfreesboro, Bluebird in the Boro, returns February 26 and 27. Songwriters perform their hit songs in the round at the Grove at Williamson Place to fund care for hospice patients, grief support for children and adults, and free community education on end-of-life issues. Each show includes dinner and an open bar. Attendees will also have a chance to bid on one-of-a-kind paintings created for the event by artist and Grammy Award-winning songwriter Ray Stephenson.
This year’s performers are Dan Couch, JT Harding, Tim James, Doug Johnson, Elvie Shane, Ray Stephenson, and Adam Wood.

“At Alive, we are reimagining the way people can live as they approach the end of life,” said Kimberly Goessele, Alive’s President/CEO. “Our care is designed to help lift some of the weight off patients and their loved ones so they can share meaningful time together. The relationship doesn’t end there. We are here to support community members as they deal with transitions, grieve, and learn to live with loss.”
Event Details: Tickets can be purchased individually for $100 or by the table for those who wish to join the “Songwriter’s Circle” with a contribution to Alive of $1,000. This option seats eight and includes show memorabilia and donor recognition.

Grammy Award-winning musician and visual artist Ray Stephenson generously donated this year’s original artwork. Stephenson’s paintings hang in the collections of Willie Nelson, Hank Williams Jr., and Oprah Winfrey, and he has been the Official Painter of the Monsters of Rock Tour. Two of his songs have gone Platinum: the title track of Kenny Chesney’s album Hemingway’s “Whiskey” and the Blake Shelton/Miranda Lambert album title track, “Red River Blue.” Willie Nelson, Kris Kristofferson, and Merle Haggard are among the artists who have recorded his songs.
