Alive is now offering beautiful stained-glass butterflies for sale in its online store. These unique three-dimensional suncatchers remind us of the new life that comes each spring. Local artist Alan Williams of Shine Glass Studios in Nashville hand crafts every butterfly with quality metal and glass. They make a perfect memento or gift and look lovely in a window or garden.
“I wanted to make something small, pretty, and accessible,” Williams says of the butterflies. “I like the symbolism of metamorphosis. I worked in construction for several years before learning stained glass crafting. I left the cocoon behind and found rewarding work. I want to encourage everyone to pursue their happiness,” he said.
When you purchase a butterfly, you support our services. As the only nonprofit provider of hospice care in the region, our mission is to ensure that all who need end-of-life care receive it. Your donations help provide financial support for families when insurance doesn’t cover everything. They also allow is to provide education and grief support to the community at large, not just those who had a loved one in our care. Dimensions: 3 inches wide, 4 inches long, and 2.5 inches tall. An 8 inch chain is doubled for a 4 inch hanging length. The chain is positioned to set the butterfly at a perfect “in-flight” angle.
