Honoring Our Legacy, Building Our Future

A Message From Our President & CEO

It’s an exciting time at Alive as we not only celebrate our 50th anniversary, but also as we enter into a season marked by great momentum and growth. As Middle Tennessee’s only nonprofit hospice, our mission has always been to provide care that goes beyond the basics. Thanks to your support, that work continues to thrive and reach more patients across our state.

Since joining Alive during the summer, I’ve been met with warmth, kindness, and belief in our mission and our care teams. Stepping into this role has been a true honor, and I am deeply grateful for the encouragement, trust, and partnership that our community has offered in these first months. Your commitment to Alive’s mission is a daily inspiration and the guiding light as we continue to build on our strong legacy of care.

2025 has been a meaningful year as we’ve expanded our reach in several important ways. We are growing our inpatient palliative program beyond hospital walls and into the broader community, ensuring that more patients and families can benefit from expert care wherever they need it most. Our grief support programs, like Camp Forget-Me-Not, also continue to see increased participation, bringing hope and healing to more children and families across Middle Tennessee. Our inpatient units remain unique to our region, which strengthens our ability to meet people where they are, and provide comfort and specialized care for patients and families who need us most.

2026 is quickly approaching and we anticipate changes in regulations and the growing presence of for-profit hospice competitors. But Alive has always been defined by resilience and innovation. With your generosity and support, we are confident that we can continue to grow and ensure our community has access to the very best in hospice and palliative care for the next fifty years and beyond.

Your generosity is what makes all of this possible.

Every gift, every hour volunteered, every word of support helps us ensure that no one in Middle Tennessee has to face serious illness or grief alone. Together, we are writing the next chapter of Alive’s story, one filled with compassion, community, and care that honors and dignifies those we love until their final breath.
