Keep Patients Connected

Dear friend,

It’s more important than ever for us to stay connected. This is especially true for patients and caregivers who are isolated in quarantine during this frightening pandemic.

If you support our telehospice program today you will help patients like Jim stay connected. A resident in a care facility under quarantine, he can no longer receive in-person visits from family or his Alive chaplain and social worker. An Alive nurse set up a virtual visit with Jim and his sister who was distraught that she had not been able to see him for several weeks. Nothing else could have provided so much comfort and relief to them.

Our Henry Hooker Alive Connect telehospice program is safely connecting our patients and their caregivers with their families and our doctors, nurses, chaplains, and social workers in these extremely challenging circumstances.

Our bedside medical care will continue throughout this crisis, but we need to expand this essential program. Patients in long-term residences and in their own homes need face-to-face connections now, more than ever. Patients in our residences need more virtual visits from family since we have been forced to limit in-person visits.

How Does It Work?

We give an iPad with our Alive Connect application installed to all the patients we care for at home and in long-term care facilities, so they can have face-to-face time with their Alive team, 24/7. It was custom-built for this purpose and keeps patient privacy secure.

Connections Go Beyond Clinical Care

Alive Connect goes beyond clinical care. Yes, it provides medical relief faster and prevents unnecessary visits to the emergency room for fragile patients. But it does more.

Patients Have Used Alive Connect To

  • Connect with family members who cannot visit
  • Chat with our team when they just need a human connection
  • Visit with our chaplains for spiritual comfort
  • Get assistance from social workers with medical paperwork, financial aid, etc.

Give now, and help us keep connections alive despite social distancing.

Together, we will get through this.

Sincerely,
Kimberly Goessele
Alive President/CEO
