Carin and Cristian de León grew up together in Guatemala. As her brother, Cristian looked out for Carin.
After they moved to the United States, Carin was diagnosed with cancer, and Cristian was there for her in that brotherly role once again. When Carin's prognosis was found to be terminal, they found comfort and support with Alive Hospice. Just as Cristian was there to support his sister in her illness, Alive Hospice was there to support them both.
Alive Hospice embraces families of all cultures and heritage. Sept. 15 to Oct. 15 is National Hispanic Heritage Month, and Alive Hospice wants Middle Tennessee's Latino community to know that apoyo (support) is available to all who need it. Alive Hospice provides care and support not only for patients like Carin, but for family members like Cristian, too ... because a terminal illness affects everyone. And because no one should have to face losses alone, our services include grief support for anyone affected by the death of a loved one.
