Janet L. Jones is an advocate for hospice care on the international, national and local levels. She has served as president and CEO of Alive Hospice since 1997. She serves on the boards of the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization and the Foundation for Hospices in Sub-Saharan Africa. Jan has been involved in the hospice movement since 1979 and believes that hospice care is a right, not just an option.
A nurse by training, Jan is a member of the National Hospice Work Group and is a former president of the Tennessee Hospice Organization. She was the founding director of Catholic Hospice in Miami Lakes, Florida. As president and CEO of Alive Hospice, which serves 12 Middle Tennessee counties, she oversees the agency’s home care program, hospice facilities and bereavement services. Jan is a great believer in community education and never misses an opportunity to talk about hospice care.
